VGSOM IIT, Kharagpur MBA Admission 2022: Selection Process, CAT Cut off, Eligibility Criteria, Fees details & Placements
Vinod Gupta School of Management (VGSOM), IIT Kharagpur, is one of the highly reputed business schools located in Kharagpur. An academic unit of the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, it is the first business school to be established in an IIT. Master of Business Administration (MBA) is the flagship postgraduate program of VGSOM, IIT Kharagpur. It is a 2-year full-time residential program offered by the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur at VGSoM. The selection of candidates for admission to the MBA is a two-step process. In this article, we discuss the admission criteria, selection process, and entrance exams they accept in detail.
VGSOM, IIT Kharagpur MBA Admission Process 2022
As mentioned before, the selection process for the MBA programme at VGSOM, IIT Kharagpur, consists of two phases. In phase 1, the candidates get shortlisted based on their scores in the entrance exam (CAT), academic performance, work experience and other selection parameters. And coming to phase 2, the shortlisted candidates get must appear for the personal interview (PI). Final admission to the MBA program is offered on the basis of a cumulative score of the application rating (AR), performance score in the CAT exam, and the candidate’s performance in the personal interview.
VGSOM CAT Cutoff 2022
The applicants must have the minimum CAT percentile as follows to be considered:

Overall, CAT scores scaled out of 20, application rating (AR) out of 20, and Gender Diversity Factor will be added to get the score for short-listing of the applicants to be called for personal interview(PI). Two marks will be given to all female applicants.
The application rating looks at the applicants’ academic performances (marks obtained) at various stages of academic progressions, such as secondary, higher secondary, bachelor’s degree, and postgraduate (master’s degree, if any), along with professional work experiences. Although in the online application, the portal captures sectional scores and percentile as part of CAT exam performance, the same is not used for application rating. Final Selection
In phase 2 of the admission process, the final selection will be based on the cumulative score of the application rating (AR), performance in the CAT exam, and the candidate’s performance in the Personal Interview process.

The final offer of admission will be made on merit in each category. Hardly fulfilling the minimum qualifying criteria as mentioned above would not guarantee a candidate for admission to the MBA program of VGSOM, IIT Kharagpur.
VGSOM MBA Fees
The tuition fees for the two-year full-time flagship MBA program is around Rs. 11.59 Lakhs, including hostel or accommodation. Tuition Fee waived for SC/ST/PwD students.
VGSOM MBA Final Placements 2022
VGSoM, IIT Kharagpur, has successfully concluded one of the most remarkable Final Placements in its 29-year legacy.
