However, the ultimate mission is to improve the Socioeconomic condition by improving milk, meat and poultry production in the state.
The Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Service was a joint Department Comprising of Agriculture & Animal Husbandry. As the needs of Animal Husbandry and Dairying increased, this Department assumed its singular characteristics and function.
The Department is headed by the DIRECTOR (Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science). This Department which is primarily vested with the responsibility of providing veterinary health along with an increase in livestock production has now the task of attaining self-sufficiency in milk production of this state.
