\nThe given series is based on the following sequence,
\n(12+1)*0.5 = 6.5
\n(6.5+1)*1 = 7.5
\n(7.5+1.5)*1.5=12.75
\n(12.75+1)*2 = 27.5
\n(27.5+1)*2.5 = 71.25
\n(71.25+1)*3 = 216.75<\/p>\n

2) Answer (A)<\/strong>
\nEach number in the series is 1.5 times the preceding number.
\nHence, 16*1.5 = 24
\n24*1.5 = 36
\n36*1.5 = 54
\n54*1.5=81
\n81*1.5 = 121.5
\nSo, the next number is 121.5*1.5 = 182.25<\/p>\n

3) Answer (E)<\/strong>
\nThe ratio between preceding terms of the sequence are in a fibonacci sequence.
\nFor example, 12\/12 = 1
\n18\/12 = 1.5
\n45\/18 = 2.5 (which is 1+1.5)
\n180\/45 = 4 (which is 1.5+2.5)
\n1170\/180 = 6.5 (which is 2.5+4)
\nHence, the next ratio would be 4+6.5=10.5

\nThe difference between consecutive terms of the series is a perfect square.

\nHere, in this series, the nth term is $$(previous term + 6\\times 2^{n-2})$$
