\nLet the number of men initially working be x who could finished the work in 60 days
\nNow, (x+6) men can finish the work in 60 – 20 = 40 days
\n=> X x 60 = (x + 6) \u00d7 40
\n=> 3x = 2x + 12
\n=> 3x \u2212 2x = x = 12
\n\u2234 The number of men working = 12
\n=> Ans – (B)<\/p>\n

2) Answer (C)<\/strong>
\nSpeed of boat = 20 km\/hr and speed of current = 5 km\/hr
\nDistance to travel = 100 km
\nSpeed downstream (with the current) = 20 + 5 = 25 km\/hr
\n=> Time taken = distance \/ speed
\n= 100 \/ 25 = 4 hours
\n=> Ans – (C)<\/p>\n

3) Answer (D)<\/strong>
\nLet M be the total number of mice killed, c be the number of cats, i be the number of days and e be the average number of mice killed by one cat in one day.
\nThe number of mice killed is proportional to both the number of cats and the number of days.

\nSubstituting M=100, i = 100 and c = 100 into this equation, we find :
\n=> 100 = 100 \u00d7 100 \u00d7 e
