Question 6

In July, if 40% of the gross revenue of the Magazine was collected from Advertisement, what was the amount of gross revenue collected from advertisement in that particular month ?

Solution

In July,

Gross revenue = net revenue + amount allocated for commission + amount allocated for discount

= 3,62,000 + 40,000 + 28,000

= Rs. 4,30,000

Now, 40% of the gross revenue of the Magazine was collected from Advertisement

$$\therefore$$ Amount of gross revenue collected from advertisement in July

= $$\frac{40}{100} \times 4,30,000$$

= Rs. 1,72,000
