The shaded region above represents the area enclosed by $$2|x| + 3|y| \leq 6$$

Now area of $$\triangle\ OAD\ =\ \dfrac{1}{2}\cdot3\cdot2=3$$ sq. unit

Like $$\triangle\ OAD$$, we are also having $$\triangle\ OAB$$, $$\triangle\ OBC$$, $$\triangle\ OCD$$

So, total area $$=4\times\ 3=12$$ sq. unit
